Title:
Rajkot International Airport

Rajkot is the fourth-largest city in the lndian state of Gujarat after Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat, and is in the centre of the Saurashtra region of Gujarat. lt is a major city with population more than 20 lakh in the state of Gujarat and contributes to the economy of the state with many heavy and small-scale industries. lt is also home for CNC machines, Auto parts manufacturers and Foundry (Casting units)

The existing Airport at Rajkot in the state of Gujarat, having an area of 236 acres, belongs to the Airports Authority of lndia. This airport is capacity constrained due to dense residential and commercial development all around it and does not have any scope for further expansion and also to meet Civil Aviation requirements. Therefore, Govt. of Gujarat has proposed a new lnternational Airport, Rajkot and entrusted it to Airports Authority of lndia. After the proposed New Greenfield Airport becomes operational, existing Rajkot Airport will cease functioning

The New Greenfield Airport being developed at Rajkot is approached by National Highway (NH-88) connecting Ahmedabad and Rajkot and is located approx. 30kms east of the existing Rajkot Airport. The New Terminal building and the airside infrastructures are developed in a total land area of 2534 acres and at a cost of Rs. 1405 Cr. This development includes construction of Runway, Apron, Parallel Taxi Track etc.
