Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra, an IAS officer of 1986 batch (Gujarat Cadre), is the Chairman of Airports Authority of India, India's largest Airport Operator and sole Air Navigation Service (ANS) provider in the country. AAI is a Mini-Ratna Category-I public Sector Enterprise.
An Alumnus of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Dr.Mohapatra completed his Post Graduation in Political Science and M. Phil in International Relations from the same University. He earned his Ph.D from M S University, Baroda and an MBA from Faculty of Economics, University of Slovenia.
With an experience of over 30 years in various Department of State and Central Government, he has served in various positions in various sectors including Urban Development, Power and other industries.
Dr.Mohapatra had a long stint in the power sector, where he was involved in comprehensive reforms in the power sector and restructuring of the erstwhile Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) into several commercial entities. He has rich and varied experience in the chemical and fertilizer sector, as he has worked as the Managing Director of Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd. (GACL) and Managing Director of Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company Limited (GNFCL).
An avid proponent of creating infrastructure well ahead of demand, Dr.Mohapatra has held various responsibilities with the Government. He worked as a Municipal Commissioner of Surat, Gujarat. Under his leadership, the process of converting Surat into one of the models of urban governance with its thrust on Solid Waste Management, quality infrastructure and sound financial management were completed. He also held the position of Municipal Commissioner of Ahmedabad City for more than 3 years. During his stint, he was instrumental in developing iconic projects such as Sabarmati Riverfront, BRTS, Kankaria Lakefront and Heritage Promotion of city.
Prior to Joining AAI, he worked as a Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce in Government of India.
Shri Anil Kumar Pathak has taken over charge of Member (Planning) in Airports Authority of India on 21.08.2018. Shri Pathak holds Master Degree in Environment Science & Engineering. He is also certified International Airport Professional (IAP) by ACI-ICAO.
Prior to this assignment, Shri Pathak was Executive Director (Planning) & Executive Director (Engineering) in Corporate Headquarters and associated with Corporate Planning, Traffic Forecasting, and Airport Infrastructure Planning & Execution of projects across India.
He is having 30 years of rich experience in planning, design of modern state-of-art environment-friendly airport terminals and airside infrastructure like runways, apron etc. its financial evaluation, regulatory clearances, tendering & award processes. He is also associated with execution of various Greenfield & Brownfield Airport Projects across India.
Mr. S. Suresh (53) is a commerce graduate and Associate Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) and Post Graduate in Computer Applications. He is also an alumni of 14th Advanced Management Program conducted by Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon, India and had attended leading Business Schools in Europe such as ESCP EAP European School of Management, Paris and the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration as part of Overseas Learning Program. Mr S. Suresh has a vast experience of 32 years of working in various Government Departments and Public Sector Undertakings viz Ministry of Defence, National Thermal Power Corporation, Bharat Wagons & Engineering (a subsidiary of Bharat Bhari Udyog Nigam Ltd) including Airports Authority of India.
He joined Airports Authority of India in 1993 and has experience of more than 20 years in various facets of Civil Aviation Industry. He joined as Incharge of Hyderabad Airport in 1993 and was instrumental in setting up of first ever Self Accounting Unit at the Airport. In the year 1997 he was promoted and made the In‐Charge of Northern Region which was one of the biggest regions of Airports Authority of India having 14 major airports and 10 communication stations. Here also he was instrumental in automating the Finance working which ultimately led to reducing the duplication of work to a greater extent. Mr S. Suresh was made first ever General Manager Finance in the year 2003 of North Eastern Region where he created the first ever network based application for finance in the region. Considering the difficult terrain and working conditions of the Airports of North East this proved to be a boon considering very low manpower in Finance directorate. After the completion of the tenure at North Eastern Region, Mr. S.Suresh was again given the reins of Northern Region where this time he implemented Web based applications for finance for the Northern Region.
Mr S. Suresh also held in brief (for One and a half year duration) in 2010 the charge of General Manager Commercial at AAI, Corporate Head Quarters and was instrumental in bringing out the exhaustive Commercial Manual for AAI.
Mr S. Suresh was promoted as Executive Director Finance in the year 2011 where he took major steps to improve cash flow management and brought systemic improvements in the methods of borrowings from the market. Besides Finance he has a special interest in the ICT field which ultimately was instrumental in designing, development and implementation of various computer system based programmes for automation of various functions of Finance.
Mr S. Suresh took over as Member Finance on the Board of Airports Authority of India on 1st August, 2012. He is also on the Board as Director in all the 8 JVC of Airports in India. Presently, he is heading the steering committee to develop and implement the ERP system for Finance and HR functions on pan India basis. After assuming charge as Member Finance of Airports Authority of India he has been instrumental in taking new initiatives like system upgradations, benchmarking, standardisation of processes and pursued some critical commercial issues at the industry level. The format of Account for AAI has been proposed for approval by Govt. of India to be in line with the schedule VI of the Companies Act. Mr S. Suresh has been entrusted and is in the process of facilitating Government for various reforms to enhance and to boost civil aviation in India.
Mr. S. Suresh represented India as Member of Indian delegation for 6th World Wide Air Transport Conference held from 18‐22 March 2013 at Montreal, Canada. Mr S. Suresh is an avid traveller and had extensively visited most of the cities in India and many foreign countries. He is an amateur wild life photographer. Swimming, nature walk and update on latest technology are his past time favourites.
Shri Anuj Aggarwal took over the charge of Member (HR) of Airports Authority of India (AAI) on 1st December, 2014. Joined AAI as class-I officer in 1989 and moved up the ladder in the organization before taking over as Member (HR). Shri Anuj Aggarwal is having more than 30 years of experience in PSU.
Shri Aggarwal is an Engineering Graduate from BITS Pilani and also holds Advance Diploma in Management. He has successfully completed the professional courses on "Airport Executive Leadership Programme" jointly conducted by ACI and the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University, Canada; "Management Development Programme" on Aviation Management conducted by IIM, Ahmedabad; "International Executive Diploma Programme" Conducted by School of Business, George Washington University, Washington DC and "Certified Corporate Directorship" conducted by Institute of Directors, New Delhi.
Shri Aggarwal has put in more than 28 years of service in the Aviation sector in different roles and has acquired vast experience in the field of Planning, Administration, Engineering, Operations, Corporate Social Responsibility and Human Resources Management. After joining AAI (erstwhile NAA) at Jaipur Airport, he moved up the ladder and worked in various capacities like Regional Executive Director (RED), Northern Region, Airport Director, Ahmedabad International Airport, Jaipur International Airport and Goa International Airport.
Prior to joining AAI in 1989, Shri Aggarwal worked in NBCC for more than 3 years. He has also participated in various National and International Workshops and Conferences related to Aviation.
Presently he is also occupying the post of Member, Executive Council, SCOPE and Vice President of All India Public Sector Sports Promotion Board (AIPSSPB).
Shri Aggarwal is a team player with the ability to handle large taskforce in a disciplined & organized manner as well as monitoring and motivating teams in optimizing performance levels. Shri Aggarwal is an avid nature lover and enjoys exploring the new places.
Shri Indrakanti Narasimha Murthy has taken over the charge of Member (Operations) and Board Member of Airports Authority of India (AAI) on 23/11/2016. He is a Post Graduate in Physics (Electronics) and joined as Aerodrome Officer in August, 1985 in Civil Aviation Department, G.O.I. which subsequently became Airports Authority of India. Sh. Murthy has 31 years of long experience in aviation sector by serving different positions in Directorate of Air Traffic Management, Directorate of Aerodrome Planning, Airport Management & Operations of AAI. Prior to taking over the charge of Member (Operations), he served as Regional Executive Director (Southern Region) at Chennai and Executive Director (Air Traffic Management) in Air Space Management Directorate at Corporate Headquarter of Airports Authority of India.
Dr. Tuktuk Ghosh Kumar holds a Doctorate degree from the University of Delhi. She taught at its reputed Hindu College before joining the Indian Administrative Service. Allotted to the West Bengal Cadre, she held senior positions in the State Government. She served on deputation with Parliament and Government of India, specialising in the social, industry, finance and transport infrastructure sectors.Her association with these sectors continues post her retirement in 2015
Air Chief Marshal Fali Homi Major was commissioned in the Indian Air Force on 31st December, 1967. He has flown over 7000 hours on various aircraft and helicopters. He has held a number of important operational and staff appointments. He was appointed as the 18th Chief of Air Staff of the Indian Air Force on 31st March 2017. During his service he received two presidential gallantry awards and two presidential distinguished service awards for exceptional service to the nation. He is also an Independent Director of Air India.
