V.S.S Airport, Jharsuguda was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, on 22nd September 2018. Airports Authority of India in co-ordination with State Government of Odisha developed this Airport for operation of Airbus-320.  VSS Airport, Jharsuguda is also selected for RCS operation which is a scheme of central Government of India.

Jharsuguda is the district headquarters of Jharsuguda district of Orissa, India. It is the administrative headquarters of Jharsuguda district. It is an upcoming industrial hub, basically in the metal, coal and cement sectors. Jharsuguda is well connected to all major cities of India through rail network and airways. It is popularly known as the power house of Orissa due to large number of thermal power plants located nearby.
