Rajahmundry Airport (IATA: RJA, ICAO: VORY) is a domestic airport serving the city of Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh, India. The airport is located at Madhurapudi, approximately 16 km north of the city centre on National Highway 516E (NH-516E).
Constructed during the British era, the airport is spread over an area of 1,214 acres. Air services were initially operated by Vayudoot between 1985 and 1994, followed by VIF Airways in 1995. In February 2007, the Government of Andhra Pradesh entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for modernization of the airport.
Earlier, due to runway length limitations, the airport could accommodate only smaller turboprop aircraft such as ATR-72 and Dash 8-Q400. To facilitate operations of larger aircraft, AAI undertook extension of the runway from 1,749 metres to 3,165 metres. The expanded runway was inaugurated on 12 February 2019 . Approximately 800 acres of land were acquired for the runway expansion project. Following the expansion, the airport is now capable of handling narrow-body aircraft such as Airbus A320, Airbus A321 and Boeing 737 Max series aircraft. IndiGo commenced Airbus A320 operations to Mumbai and Delhi with effect from 01 December 2024 and 12 December 2024 respectively.
Scheduled flight operations at Rajahmundry Airport commence in the morning with the first departure at 0825 IST, while the last scheduled departure is at 2130 IST. Accordingly, the Airport Terminal Building remains open for passengers from 0530 IST until the departure of the last scheduled flight.
In view of security considerations, the main entrance gate of the airport remains closed during non-operational hours. The gate is closed after the departure of the last scheduled flight and reopens at 0530 IST on the following day.

Schedule Operations at Rajahmundry Airport Commence in the morning with First Departure at 0825 IST and Last Departure is at 2130 IST. Accordingly, Airport/Terminal is kept open for the Passengers wef 0530 IST till the Departure of the Last Flight.
