Chennai, 15.10.2022: Airports Authority of India (AAI), Chennai International Airport in collaboration with Blue Dart Aviation, celebrated the ‘Girls in Aviation Day' on 13.10.2022 at Chennai Airport.

Girls in aviation day is meant to promote various career paths and recreational pursuits within aviation to girls and young women through a variety of speakers, exhibits and hands-on experiences.

On the day, AAI, Chennai invited 25 girl students from different schools of Chennai to explore, learn, and discover the various aspects of aviation and aerospace. Dr. Sharad Kumar, Airport Director, Chennai Airport and Ms. Tulsi Mirchandaney, MD, Blue Dart Aviation Ltd. welcomed the guests and spoke on the occasion.

Arrangements were also in place for interaction of students with women executives working in different fields of Chennai Airport to motivate and instil confidence to take up a career in Aviation.

It was a rare opportunity for the students as they could listen to women achievers from diverse fields of aviation sharing their professional experiences, mostly inspiring anecdotes, all of which were well received.

The girls were given a tour of the ATC Tower, Airside (Apron) and all their queries were suitably answered.

The day turned out to be a revelation for the girl students who actively took part in interactive sessions and field tour which followed.
