AAI is extremely honored to be recognized for the prestigious Golden Peacock Eco-Innovation Award as a result of its innovative and successful work in the area of environment management.
The use of recycled papers has brought in a change in the corporate culture within the organization- inculcating and promoting resource minimization, recycling and reuse of waste paper and contributing to environment conservation in a meaningful way.
Driven by the concept of promoting better practices for environment conservation, AAI in association Kalyanmayee- its Women Welfare Association started this unique initiative in 2009. Mrs. Archna Agrawal, President, Kalyanmayee pioneered the inception of the project and significantly contributed in establishment of the paper recycling unit in New Delhi.
AAI became the first PSU in India to establish this Paper Recycling Unit to support the cause G.R.O.W. (Government Recycled Office Waste). The paper recycling unit converts paper waste from AAI offices across the country, into useful paper stationery products like file covers, file folders, visiting cards, envelopes, letter heads, corporate gifts, calendars and several other paper products. Earlier the paper waste was being dumped or sold. Now the paper recycle unit significantly caters the paper stationery needs of AAI offices situated across the country.
Paper is such a commodity closely related to usage in our daily lives and the use of paper in our day-to-day life remains indispensable. AAI optimized efforts on research and development and came up with this concept of reuse of paper in a substantial manner, which could be an inspiration for other corporate to adopt. The initiative is embedded with considerable eco-friendly features to produce special papers and products for technical / commercial applications. The technology also offers to redesign the system of value addition of recycling and advancing manufacturing techniques.
The paper recycling unit project works on the grounds of viable waste-to-energy systems. Key features of the paper recycling unit are: energy conservation, conversion of waste into wealth by re-crafting /recycling, pollution free and eco-friendly finished products (the recycled paper are chlorine free, no de-inking, no colour, efficient to be reused) and countless personalized varieties for corporate stationary.
AAI is committed to continue in spreading the message on how we could take a closer look at use of recycle papers in our daily lives and bring responsible and enduring changes on environment.
