कार्यात्मक जिम्मेदारी में शामिल हैं / The functional responsibility includes(RCDU):

संचार एवं दिक्चालन (नेविगेशन) सिस्टमों के लिए स्थल का चयन, उनका संस्थापन एवं उन्हें चालू करना। / Site selection installation and commissioning of Communication and Navigational Systems
संचार और दिक्चालन (नेविगेशन) सिस्टमों का ट्रांस संस्थापन। / Trans installation of communication & Navigational system.
कॉइल रिवाइंडिंग, फैब्रिकेशन आदि नियत कार्यों के लिए एस.एम.यू. को सपोर्ट करना , जब कभी आवश्यकता हो। / To support the SMU for assigned task e.g. coil rewinding, fabrication etc. as and when required.
तात्कालिक आवश्यकताओं के मामले में सीएनएस सुविधाओं की बहाली करना। / Restoration of CNS facilities in case of exigencies.
रेडियो निर्माण एवं विकास एकक , उड़ान निरीक्षण एकक, केन्द्रीय रेडियो भंडार डिपो और विद्युत एवं यांत्रिक कार्यशाला के लिए एकीकृत प्रशासनिक एकक और क्षेत्रीय लेखा एकक। / Integrated administrative Unit & Regional Accounting Unit- For RCDU, FlU, CRSD and E&M Workshop.

कार्यात्मक जिम्मेदारी में शामिल हैं / The functional responsibility includes(FIU):

देश भर के सभी हवाईअड्डों पर संचार और नेविगेशन निगरानी सुविधाओं का उड़ान निरीक्षण करना , वर्तमान में 75 आई एल एस (ILS) (CAT-III सहित) और 96 वीओआर (VOR) के लिए दो डोर्नियर 228 एवं एक बी-300 विमान के साथ सेवा दे। / To carry out the flight inspection of Communication and Navigation surveillance facilities at all the airports throughout the country, catering at present for 64 ILS (including CAT-III) and 93 VORs with a fleet of Two Dornier 228 and one B-300 aircraft.
रडार (एसएसआर, एआरएसआर, एमएसएसआर) की उड़ान जांच और वायु यातायात नियंत्रकों का रडार प्रशिक्षण एवं पीबीएन (PBN)(एलपीवी(LPV)) प्रक्रियाओं का अभिप्रमाणन। / Flight check of RADARs (SSRs, ARSRs, MSSRs) and RADAR training of ATCOs.
वायु सेना और नौसेना वायु क्षेत्रों में भी ग्राउंड नेविगेशनल एड्स एवं विजुअल लैंडिंग एड्स का उड़ान निरीक्षण करना। / Undertake flight inspection of Ground Navigational Aids and Visual Landing Aids at Air Force and Naval Air Fields as well.
डीएमई, एनडीबी, एप्रोच लाइटिंग सिस्टम और वासी (VASI) / पापी (PAPI) का भी उड़ान निरीक्षण किया जाता है। / Flight Inspection of DMEs, NDBs, Approach Lighting systems, and VASI / PAPI are also undertaken.
पहले वियतनाम, लाओस, नेपाल, मालदीव, बांग्लादेश, तजाकिस्तान एवं भूटान जैसे पड़ोसी देशों में नेविगेशनल एड्स का उड़ान निरीक्षण किया गया है। यह निरीक्षण कार्य आरंभ में यूएनडीपी परियोजना के तहत लेकिन बाद में द्विपक्षीय समझौतों के तहत किया गया। / Has earlier undertaken Flight Inspection of Nav. Aids in the Neighboring countries like Vietnam, Laos, Nepal, Maldives, Bangladesh and Bhutan, initially under the UNDP project, but later on under bilateral agreements
उड़ान निरीक्षण एकक में तीन पूरी तरह से स्वचालित उड़ान निरीक्षण प्रणालियां हैं, जो कम दृश्यता / खराब मौसम की स्थिति में उड़ान निरीक्षण करने में सक्षम हैं। दो उड़ान निरीक्षण प्रणालियां डीओ-228 विमानो में और एक बी-300 विमान में लगी हुई है। कैट- III आई एल एस कैलिब्रेशन के लिए कैलिब्रेशन को "लेजर ऑटो ट्रैकर" सिस्टम के साथ संवर्धित किया गया है। / FIU has three fully Automatic Flight Inspection Systems, capable of undertaking flight inspections under low visibility / bad weather conditions. Two Flight Inspection Systems are installed in DO-228 aircrafts and one in B-300. The calibration is augmented with a "Laser Auto Tracker" System for Cat- III ILS calibration.
उड़ान निरीक्षण एकक नेविगेशनल एड्स / एयरफील्ड की स्थिति की जानकारी हेतु एयरफील्ड सर्वेक्षण करने के लिए " डिफरेंशियल ग्लोबल पोजिशनिंग सिस्टम (DGPS) " से लैस है। / FIU is equipped with "Ground Survey Kit" for carrying out Airfield survey for position information of Nav. Aids / Airfield.
