Airports Authority of India, Chennai Airport, in collaboration with National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD) under Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (GOI) inaugurated a two-day Workshop on ‘Soft Skill Training on Handling Individuals with Disabilities (IwD’s)’ on 11.12.2017.
The Objective of the workshop is to train the Stakeholders at Chennai Airport on creating awareness about handling Passengers with Disabilities (Divyangjan) by understanding their needs for a hassle-free movement through the airports.
The program was presided over by Shri Sudhakar Reddy, President, Air Passengers Association of India (APAI), Shri G Chndramouli, Airport Director, Shri U Praveen Kumar, Dy. Director, Bureau of Immigration. The program started with a lightening of lamp by the dignitaries and prayer song by Airports Authority of India staffs. Airport Director welcomed all the dignitaries and representatives of stakeholders. Other dignitaries include Assistant Commandant of CISF, Vice Chairman of Airlines Operating Committee (AOC) and officials from NIEPMD & AAI. Representatives of all the stakeholders were also present at the event.
