The functional responsibility includes:-

 

Plan, construct, operate and maintain International Airports in India.

Detailing of the new airport project and modifications in the existing airports starting from conceptualization, feasibility, detail designing of various sub schemes including the following:

• Civil designing of the building including various finishes etc.
• Internal and External electrification of the building
• Airconditioning and ventilation etc.
• Aerobridges, conveyors, escalators and elevators
• Fire protection and fighting system

Plan, provide, operate and maintain runway at international airports.

• Cat-I, Cat-II, Cat-III lightingRunway pavement design
• Signage etc.

Plan, provide, operate and maintain cargo facilities at international airports.

• Automatic storage and retrieval system
• Elevating transfer vehicle
• Storage system at Cargo

Apron and Taxiway lighting

Tender/ framing of specifications for various works including imported equipment

Tender security and award of work

Maintenance of all the above installation at five international airports i.e.

• Kolkata Airport
• Chennai Airport
• Thiruvananthapuram Airport

Quality Assurance and Technical audit cell to conduct technical audit of various ongoing works.

The following major projects at present are in hand -

• Upgradation and development of Amritsar Airport
• SITC of 9 nos. aerobridges at Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai Airports
• Extension and modification of Anna International Airport at Chennai Airport
• Integrated Cargo complex at Chennai Airport
• Resurfacing of Runway at Agatti Airport
• Development of Jalgaon Airport
• Development of Jaisalmer Airport
• Development of Tezu Airport

The following projects are proposed to be taken up

• 1. Construction of a green field Airport at Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh
• 2. Development of Chandigarh Airport on Mohali side
• 3. Development of Indian Academy at Vasant Kunj
