Buddha Circuit and Connectivity

Lumbini: Lumbini is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the Rupandehi District of Lumbini Province in Nepal. It is the place where, according to Buddhist tradition, Queen Mahamayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama at around 623 BC.

Bodh Gaya: Bodh Gaya is a village in the northeast Indian state of Bihar. Considered one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites, it's dominated by the ancient brick Mahabodhi Temple Complex, built to mark the site where the Buddha attained enlightenment beneath a sacred Bodhi Tree and became known as Gautama Buddha.

Sarnath: Sarnath is a place located 10 kilometres north-east of Varanasi near the confluence of the Ganges and the Varuna rivers in Uttar Pradesh, India. The Deer Park in Sarnath is where Gautama Buddha first taught the Dharma.

Shravasti: Shravasti was the capital of Kosala kingdom in ancient India. Shravasti was the place where the Buddha lived most after his enlightenment. It is near the Rapti river in the northeastern part of Uttar Pradesh India, close to the Nepalese border. Sravasti is one of the most revered sites in Buddhism.

Rajgir: Rajgir is an ancient city in the northeast Indian state of Bihar. Surrounded by hills, it's known for its holy sites. It was offered a forest monastery here by king Bimbisara and became one of the Buddha's most important preaching locations.

Vaishali: Vaishali is a great Buddhist pilgrimage. The founder of Buddhism, Gautam Buddha delivered his last sermon and announced his Parinirvana on this holy soil.

Kushinagar: Kushinagar is a town in the Kushinagar district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site, where Buddhists believe Gautama Buddha attained nirvana here. It is an international Buddhist pilgrimage centre.

Just 51 kilometers from Kushinagar is Gorakhpur Railway Station. The Gorakhpur Railway Station is connected directly to stations like Mumbai, Delhi, Cochin, Barauni, Kolkata, Lucknow, Agra and Jaipur.

Kushinagar is located on the National Highways 28 which connects the city with the other parts of the state. The city is connected to Varanasi, Lucknow, Kanpur, Patna, Jhansi and Gorakhpur and other places in Uttar Pradesh. You can avail the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation buses as well as the other buses.
