Applications are invited from the candidates who have registered their name in any one of the Employment Exchange located in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Goa for the post of Junior Assistant (Fire Service) NE-4 at various airports in the above states in Western Region. Total number of posts likely to be filled is 69 and the reservations are
ST-03, OBC-29, UR-37. Number of posts may vary. The eligibility criteria for the posts are as follows: 

1)  Age : 18 to 30 years as on 31.12.2004.(Relaxable by 5 years for SC / ST, 3 years for OBC, &
Ex-servicemen as per Govt. rules). 

2) Educational Qualification:

i)  A pass in 10+2 preferably with science or any equivalent qualification from recognized University / Board as on 31.12.2004.

ii) Should possess valid current heavy driving license as on 31.12.2004.

Desirable: ITI / Sub-officer Course / Experience in any Fire Service. 

3)  Physical Fitness:-Eye sight - Distance vision-6/6 at both eyes without glasses. Near vision-N5 in both eyes without glasses. Colour vision-should be normal.

Height - Not less than 167 cm. Chest - 81 cm normal & 86 cm expanded.

(Relaxation by 3 cm in height / chest for candidates belonging to hilly areas on production of Bonafide certificate).

Weight - Not less than 55 kg.

Hearing-Normal.      Speech-Normal 

Must not have undergone major operation by virtue of which his physical fitness to work in fire service has been impaired. Should be capable of undergoing physical strain for prolonged periods. 

Disqualification: Physical deformity, chronic diseases, colour blindness, night blindness, flat foot, bow legs, knocking knee, and refractive error will be considered as disqualification. 

4)Pay scale - 5500-140-7180-160-10060  and other allowances as per rules.
Other conditions are as follows

  • Appointment to above-mentioned posts is subject to fulfilling eligibility conditions and successful passing of Basic Training Course for a period of four months.

  • During training, incumbent is entitled for stipend as per the rules.

  • The candidates will have to appear for test / interview at their own expenses. Only those candidates who are found physically fit will be allowed to appear in the written test. The candidates will be allowed to appear in driving test / physical endurance test subject to passing the written test. SC/ST candidates called for interview will be paid 2nd class rail fare as per rules. Test will be held at Indore tentatively by the 1st week of March 2005.

  • Candidate must be registered in any one employment exchange within the state for which application is submitted. He should submit only one application.

  • The eligibility with regards to age, qualification, HMV license will be determined as on 31.12.2004.

  • Employees of Govt. / Public sector undertaking should forward the application through proper channel.

  • Canvassing in any manner and bringing other influence shall make the candidature liable for rejection.

  • The authority reserves the right to restrict the number & candidates to be called for test / interview on the basis of any other norms decided by the authority.

  • Applications received after due date will not be entertained.
How to apply

1) Candidates fulfilling the above conditions may submit their application on plain paper in Hindi / English in the following format addressed to REGIONAL EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, Airports Authority of India (NAD), Western Region, CSI Airport, Mumbai-400 099 (the envelope should be superscripted by the name of the post applied for) along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 100/- (Rs. One hundred only) (non-refundable) drawn in favor of Airports Authority of India (NAD), payable at Mumbai so as to reach on or before 31.12.2004. SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of fees. 

2) The application should accompany the following documents:

  • Demand Draft for Rs.100/- as explained above.

  • Four recent passport size photographs, one affixed on application duly attested in front and other three stapled and attested on backside.

  • Attested photocopies of certificates regarding educational qualification, Date of birth, HMV license (full copy), SC / ST / OBC proof, employment exchange registration, Bonafide certificate for candidate belonging to hilly areas, etc.

3) The application must be complete in all respects failing which it will be rejected and no communication made in this regard.
