- 1924 - First Aircraft landed - DAKOTA-3.
- 1942 - Had a very small beginning with a primitive airstrip.
- 1960s - This airport occupied an important position with 0.5 lacs passenger
traffic, the highest among MUMBAI, DELHI & CHENNAI airports.
- 1970s - Japan Airlines, Panam Airlines, Air France, Qantas Airlines, Swiss
Air and Cathay Pacific were operating at this Airport.
- 1972 - AAI took over the management of this airport and carried out various
plans to improve the passenger facilities, aircraft operations and its safety
and security.
- 1975 - Commissioning of first Cargo Terminal in the country.
- Jan, 1995 - Commissioning of new Domestic Terminal building and the
renaming of the airport as NETAJI SUBHAS CHANDRA BOSE INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT
- Sep. 2000 - Commissioning
new International Arrival Hall.
