Training Establishments

The National Airports Authority [NAA] established in 1986 for the management of all domestic airports and Air Traffic Management of the entire Indian airspace and adjoining oceanic areas inherited the "Civil Aviation Training College" [CATC] at Allahabad primarily catering to the training needs of Air Traffic Controllers and Ground Engineers for maintenance of Radars, Navigational & landing aids and other airport communication systems and the NAA "Fire Service Training Centre" [FSTC] located at Calcutta. Airports Authority of India [AAI] established in 1995, merging the IAAI & NAA all the Training Establishments. NIAMAR is housed in a campus spread over 3 acres in close proximity of the International Cargo & Passenger Terminals at IGI Airport, New Delhi.

IAM was re-christened as "National Institute of Aviation Management & Research" "NIAMAR" also respond to the research aspects associated with Civil Aviation Sector in India. International Airports Authority of India, was established in 1972 for the development of the then 4 International Airports at Delhi, Bombay [Mumbai], Calcutta & Madras [Chennai]. IAAI established "Institute of Aviation Management" [IAM] and FTC at New Delhi to meet the training requirements of its human resource in various facets of Airport Management.
