IGI Airport takes up Airport Improvement Initiative
Project.

| Action Plan for Immediate Improvements - |
| |
Ministry of Civil Aviation and Airports Authority of India
have initiated a pilot project of "Airport Improvement
Initiatives" with a view to bring in immediate improvement in the
infrastructure / facilities, ambience and the standard of services at Indira
Gandhi International Airport. A three-tier committee has been setup to
conceptualise and implement a time bound action plan in this regard. Airport
Director, IGIA is heading the middle level committee which have members drawn
from other regulatory agencies. The implementation of this programme is being
monitored at the highest level in the Government. A time bound action plan for
over all improvement has been drawn up in this regard and the identified
projects are taken up in three phases with cut of dates of 31st September 2002,
31st December 2002 & 31st March 2003.
The time bound action plans are enlisted below. The actions
have already been initiated in quite a few areas of the plans.
