  1. In accordance with our stated mission of providing state of the art infrastructure for total passenger satisfaction we are constructing a New Terminal Building to enable passengers to enjoy world class amenities while waiting for their flight. The Terminal Building will have capacity to handle 75 arriving and 75 departing passengers. We are providing conveyor belts for easy retrieval of baggage, air-conditioned comfort for security hold area and CCTV for all round security. The building will be ready by Dec 2009 and we plan to operationalised it by Jan 2010.

  2. Our plans to improve the aviation scenario in Meghalaya include upgrading Barapani Airport to handle A320 type of aircraft. The Meghalaya State Government has been instrumental in realization of these plans by assuring free transfer of required land assets at an early date. The land acquisition proceedings are underway.

  3. We are installing Ground Lighting Facilities for Runway, associated Taxiway and apron. Such facilities will further improve the safe and secure operations at this airport.
