Sub:-   Night Weightage Compensation to Non-executives

Sir,

A proposal to review the existing method of compensation to the Non-executives who are performing night duty between 2200 hrs to 0600 hrs has been under consideration of Management. It has been decided to introduce Night Shift Allowance (NSA) in lieu of Night Weightage Allowance (NWA) w.e.f. 01.07.2005. The details of the Scheme is as under :   (i)The Non-Executives who are working during night between 2200 hrs. to 0600 hrs. will be entitled Night Shift Allowance (NSA) in lieu of existing Night Weightage Allowance (NWA). (ii)The Night Shift Allowance will be linked with Basic pay and will be reimbursed for the duty performed for 8 hrs. between 2200 hrs. to 0600 hrs as follows:-

(iii)The rate of Night Shift Allowance mentioned at para (ii) above, are for working 8 hrs., the employees who are performing night duty for less than 8 hrs., will be paid pro-rata  on hourly basis subject to working minimum one hour. 

(iv)The ceiling towards disbursement of Night Shift Allowance will be restricted to Ten Nights in a month.

(v)The rate of Night Shift Allowance at para (ii) above will be effective from 01.07.2005 for a period of 5 years.

2.Those Non-Executives who have performed night duty between 01.03.2002 to 30.06.2005 and not paid Night Weightage Allowance as per formula mentioned at S.No.3 of Office Order No.AAI/MPA/Perks/97 dated 18.12.1997 will now be paid as per the earlier formula to bring parity.  

3.This order supersedes instructions issued earlier on the above subject for Non-Executives and issues with approval of the Competent Authority.
